Iron Steps Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 10, 2026

Iron Steps reads daily step-count data so the game can show a player's verified steps, calculate steps available for conversion into in-game coins, apply the daily conversion cap, and track step streak progress.

Data we access

On Android, Iron Steps requests read-only access to Android Health Connect's Steps data type. The app reads the current day's aggregate count from local midnight through the current time. It does not request other Health Connect data types and does not write data to Health Connect.

If Health Connect is unavailable or access is declined, the app can use the device's live motion step counter while the app is active. This fallback does not provide historical Health Connect data.

How we use step data

Step data is used only for the in-game step display, coin conversion, conversion-cap enforcement, and streak progress. It is processed on the device and is not used for advertising, profiling, lending, insurance, employment, or other decisions about the player.

Storage, sharing, and sale

The current release does not send step counts to Iron Steps servers, sell step data, or share step data with advertisers or other third parties. The game's local progress, including the step totals needed for the current session, is stored on the device using local storage.

Your choices

Health Connect access is optional. You can decline the request or revoke access at any time in Android Health Connect settings. Without access, verified historical steps may be unavailable; the app will explain when it is using the live on-device fallback instead.

Changes and contact

We will update this policy if the app's step-data practices change. For privacy questions, contact the developer through the support contact shown on the Iron Steps Google Play listing.
